When I made the “By the River” folio (you have already passed it on my web site – go back and take a look at it, I can wait a bit. OK, thanks for checking it out.) my job was sitting in the passenger seat and scouting the river for places to photograph. I joked that we should also look at the other side of the road to see what faced the river. If there is something beautiful to look at, then it stands to reason that someone would probably build to take advantage of the view. How about an old, abandoned (maybe seldom used?) rustic cabin with weathered wood walls - another photographer magnet. One of the square pegs from that afternoon of cruising a river road. An additional square peg moment is my lack of rectification of this photograph. I tried to straighten and square up all the verticals and horizontals but it just didn’t look right. I think this old cabin needs to be a little bit off kilter to look right. And so it is.
